OH man I watched Atonement, which was really beautiful, I don't think I've been this visually and auditory impressed with a film in ages. It just takes you into this beautiful fantasy world that you want to get lost in. Specially since the opening bit takes place in a summer countryside and a gorgeous mansion. Its the kind of place you dream of when you're a kid, a little bit Secret Garden if you will.
I thought the first half of the movie was great, the second half was kind of meh for me because you keep expecting some great retribution or something, and the storytelling device they established in the first half isn't used as well in the second.
The plot itself is really great and how they go about telling it visually and how they worked in the score to make everything flow was really amazing and entrancing. I usually don't find Keira Knightley to be that great but I thought she pulled off her role in this movie really well. People always accuse her of being too skinny or whatever but you can tell in this movie that she's got hips and thighs because her body looks amazing in that famous green dress she wears.
And why do they make James McAvoy do love scenes standing up? AHAH it's so hot...he was so hot in Last King of Scotland XD heeeeee

I also watched I am Legend...which was really short, and I hated how the infected ppl looked so CGI that I couldn't take them as a real scary threat b/c they're just made of polygons on a computer and not rendered realistically enough. This person's comment sums up my feelings about the film, This film could easily have filled 2.5 hours of content. Why did it only last 1.5? I want more back story. I want more character development, especially toward the end. I want to know more about what happened, and how Will Smith's character is dealing with it. In short, I just want MORE. D:! MORE!
Also it needed more infected people hunting action! I was kind of surprised the Neville character was so tame and not kickass and really fighting for survival, all he does is play golf during the day, talk to mannequins and blood experiments to try and find the cure.
