What DO you do to keep a nice complexion? My skin is generally clear but I break out with like... one pimple on my chin or above my lip every three weeks or so. I've got tazorac but I'm hesitant to use it since it's so harsh. I think I'm doing something wrong (I might be over-scrubbing, actually, I don't know x.x). Anyway, I'm curious because you DO have nice skin.

But yeah, it is an odd compliment from a guy, I guess, ahahah. I get weird comments too but it's usually a compliment on my hair or my outfit which is a little more standard, I guess.

i read this book on skin care and it said you shouldn't use products with alcohol in it because that irritates pimples. also when you wash your face you shouldn't try and scrub it with your towel or anything, just pat it gently after you've washed it. i made that mistake before and after i stopped i noticed a big change. i still get the occasional break out too, specially if my period is coming. i use tazorac also and it doesn't dry out my skin or anything, the book i read said the most effective way to use a cream like that is to rub it all over your face so that you fight against pimples popping up on all the surfaces instead of just doing spot treatment. tazorac has a lot of vitamin A and something else to help your skin fight the sebaceous cells or whatever that makes you get pimples.

i started using toner and that made a BIG difference too! it really helps keep my skin clean, you'd never realize how much crap is still on your face after you wash it.
and finally moisturizing is the best! i use um aveeno, the soy in it is really good for your skin and helps maintain an even tone lol.

also don't pop pimples b/c the leave marks when the skin breaks D: its best jut to put the tazorac on your skin and leave them be and they'll go down

AND i love the BLISS line of face products, they have this "change your spots" cream that helps clear blemishes and works! XD

i currently just use cetaphil and birth control to have decent skin :P

you need to get it by prescription i think, but acne is a hormonal thing too, so that's why i'm gonna go on the pill soon to see if that helps even more.

i use ortho tricyclen - you're classic birth control pill you have take once a day at the same hour. after starting it, i definitley noticed a difference in my skin. at the time my breakouts were getting really bad, and after month or so, my skin cleared up. i still get a zit here and there, but it's no where near as bad as it was.

ohh ok that's what i'm thinking about going on. did you notice any side effects when you first started taking it?

um no. i started with the "low" didn't notice anything weird except for spotting (aka breathrough bleeding) which is common anyway. your doctor should explain all that to you, but i'll go ahead and explain if you don't know what that is- you bleed a little as if you're having a "light day" on your period. for me it didn't last long, a minor inconvenience.

when i switched to the regular dosage after a month of not having any birth control, i just gained some weight, then lost it.

my co-worker said that after being on ortho tricyclen for about a year it started to screw with her emotions, so i guess that's a potential side effect.
