"OMG you guys....
we can't shoot a dead woman! she might be someone's mother!" - Wesley

LMAO! I went to see WANTED yesterday. Oh the hotness that is James McAvoy, I've loved every movie that I've seen him in. I thought he did such a good job with the character he played in this movie, you can't help but root for him from the beginning. I picked up the WANTED graphic novel a few weeks ago and the Wesley character in it is kind of annoying. BTW they used NIN Everyday is exactly the same in the beginning of the movie and the way how they integrated the music with the folly sounds of the train in one of the scenes was really beautiful and amazing.

The director of this movie was the same who directed the Russian movies Daywatch and Nightwatch both of which I found utterly UNWATCHABLE because of the overuse of special effects. Every scene was some really obnoxious detailed SPX shot and the story and characters had no moment to settle, it was really disconcerting and I couldn't even finish watching Nightwatch. BUT those same visual effects techniques were used in this movie much more effectively and added to it rather than detract. I think whomever edited the movie did a good job with balancing the comedic, dramatic, action packed and visual effects scenes.

I thought Angelina Jolie' Fox character was interesting in how introspective she was, Angelina said she basically cut out a lot of her dialog from the movie because she didn't think Fox would be much for words. I kind of dig it because it makes Wesley's story stand out so much more and at least this movie didn't have some cliche love story where the female heroin turns into some victim in need of rescue by the end of it.

Anyway I thought this movie was a lot of fun, its a good fantasy piece to just get lost in and not have to worry about real world BS going on around you.

Ah! I was debating seeing it but was afraid of all the special effects because as you said, in some movies it really does make it unwatchable.

But now I am intrigued!

to me it had all the elements that made iron man really enjoyable to me, great actors, good humor and awesome effects sequences and some really creative stuff i haven't seen on screen before.
that said it is really gratuitous with the blood and gore.

I wanted to see this , but I didn't because I honestly don't like Jolie as an actress. It looked kinda cheesy. I'll give it a whirl when it comes out on dvd I think.

In reality gas costs too much to be bothered driving 20+ miles to the waterfront for a 10.00 movie ticket. D:

LOL honestly i barely noted her presence in the movie because she literally has like FIVE lines total in it. she just really kicks ass and kills people lol. i mean the whole thing is very McAvoy-centeric which is awesome if you love him.

but omg yah going to the movies sucks for your wallet but i didn't have anything better to do and i wanted a distraction

I agree with everything you said, including the fun, the fantasy, the visuals, NIN!, and the yummy McAvoy ♥.. yeah, it wasn't thought-provoking or deep or anything, but it was loads of fun. I'm not one for action flicks, but this one was entertaining.

oh man Nightwatch- guess what? i didn't finish watching that shit either. XD

to know that the same guy could use the same techniques in a better way does intrigue- but i gotta save my movie money for the dark knight and th x-files flick

ha! i feel as if the dark knight is gonna be so depressing compared to the other superhero-type movies released this year. i love me some batman and chris bale though hee

the dark knight will be depressing for me because the idea of watching ledger romp around on the screen is just going to freak me out. it's like how watching the scene in edward scissor hands when vincent price's character dies makes me tear up a little because price actually did die not long after that movie was made. it was his last film ;___;
but then christian bale will be on the screen and i'll turn into a puddle of goo
