OHhhhh so I watched the Tenshi no Revolver Tour 2007 dvd earlier....

The first 8 songs had me going DDDDDDDDD: I was like wtf is wrong with Atsushi's voice? Why does it sound so thin instead of the luscious full body sexy chocolate-ness I'm used to! The music sounds great but I felt that it overwhelmed his vocals and he needed a backing-track with some pre-recorded vocals to thicken up his vocals. Plus usually when you watch BT dvds it doesn't matter that they're playing in front of 10s of thousands of people, the editing and directing usually allow you to feel some intimacy with Atsushi but this is non-existant on this dvd and the stage steup doesn't help either. Most of the time he seems trapped in the back with Toll and Uta even though he isn't really but he just seems so far from the crowd. I don't understand this stage design at all, although I did enjoy the glass runway.

After the performance of Mienai the show really picks up and gets good and his voice seems to be in better form. And I actually think he pulls off Zekkai better on this live than on the album.

I'm trying to rip some clips from it but its being a pain in the ass idk why, something about the aspect ratio is getting fucked up -.-;
Oh yea I got some post cards with the dvd, that was nice and unexpected :D But um overall I think its a good live show, it entertained me more than the Diana live but still nothing is as good as Climax Together~ 8D that dvd has some many great moments and everything seems excellent, nothing they've released after has lived up to it in my opinion.

I made that :O The other day I went out to buy a card but the Hallmark Mother's Day section was totally empty o.O; I was going to go out today to get one but its really rainy and shitty outside so I choose to stay in and work on this instead. Its basically a mish-mash of like 3 or 4 projects that I had been working on for a few months now but which never yielded anything I liked on their own. I really like how this came out though.

The printed version looks really cute, I hand-drew the MOM script and scanned it back in so you can guys can see the final version. Also I like the visual combo of Asian and traditional Americana-tattoo art styles 8D

So recently I've been trying to get into new music because uh j-rock isn't that interesting to me anymore and a lot of the bands I do like are kind of going downhill. I downloaded Midnight Boom by The Kills after I heard their song Sour Cherry playing on last week's episode of Gossip Girl 8D It's a really cool album, it sounds very distorted and alternative. Each song is about 3 min long, this is my fav song on the album...

<lj-embed id="21" />

The Kills - Cheap and Cheerful

8D Its so awesome! Turns out that this weekend this band is having a show at Johnny Brenda's BUT I can't go cuz I promised my b/f I'd go to Buffalo with him to see his family :x So anyway...>.>;

I also downloaded the MUCH ANTICIPATED self-titled Santogold album, which is like amazing. Ok at first when I listened to it I was a bit disappointed because I expected more songs like Creator and less songs like L.E.S Artistes but its quite the opposite which makes it really good b/c then there's less OMG M.I.A v.2.0 you know? Plus that whole M.I.A movement was annoying both sonically and visually. I think its really cool to see women of color making alternative music. BTW the L.E.S Artistes video is insane O.O At first I was like this is boring but then really weird and awesome stuff starts happening check it out

<lj-embed id="22" />

Santogold - L.E.S Artistes

My fav tracks on her album are: Superman, Say Aha, Unstoppable, I'm a Lady, Anne.
This summer The Roots are having a festival thing in Philadelphia, Santogold, Gnarles Barkley among others are going to be performing, I wanna go but you can only buy the tix through EVIL ticketmaster so you know they have their retarded fees ughh.

And totally OT but I'm tired of people complaining about Project Runway moving to Lifetime network b/c its not a "gay" friendly network or whatever the fuck and all the gays over on the Project Rungay blog are up in arms. omg its just a tv station!!! You get the see the show anyhow, they're worried its gonna be IDK less gay or highfashion or something b/c its moving to a woman's network. Bravo wasn't that cool of a network before PR either so stfu -.-

The cast of Sex and the City are on Oprah today, ew SJP stop that horrible squealing that was one of the top 100 annoying things about Carrie ew.

So I finally saw Juno this weekend, I was reading some dvd review of it and they said it was nice to have the movie on dvd so that you can fast-forward through the first 15 min, and I agree b/c they were fucking PAINFUL omg. Although its refreshing to see a teenage character like Juno on the screen, honestly I thought she was just an immature asshole most of the time and written in a very one-note kind of way. The best part was when Ellen Page got some leeway to show Juno has having more emotions than constant sarcasm and no sense of self awareness. I mean really some of the things she said to Jennifer Garner's character in terms of having a baby were just WTF-worthy. Jen Garner's character was my fav and I think it was because of the acting and not the writing, her character could have easily been like some snotty upper-class yuppie obsessed with getting the perfect baby, but Jen Garner injected a lot of humanity into that character and made her multidimensional, also Jason Bateman was really good as a man-baby hahaa.
Juno's parents kinda weirded me out too, I mean its good that they were supportive of their daughter but is teen pregnancy so "normal" now that they "expected" it from her and didn't at least get upset and scream or go find the teen-father and demand something from him? I mean idk, I guess it was good she was so...uh...self sufficient with carrying out the pregnancy and not demanding anything from Bleaker but ugh IDK there needed to be less sarcasm and a bit more character realism.

Also another reason to fast-forward through the first 15 min are the horrible 4 songs that play in the first fucking NINE minutes of the movie. The music in this movie is so bad, all hipster and pretentious ewww omg.

LOL this morning the CNN news-crawl had something about 15 year old Miley Cyrus apologizing for the scandalous photo Annie Leibovitz took of her for the new Vanity Fair magazine. Personally I don't find anything sexy about the photo, her skin tone makes her look kind of dewy and sickly @.@ But why anyone thought it would ok to photograph her in this context is beyond me. I think its just her parents cashing in on her, them and the photographer should be apologizing for exploitation because frankly all they seem to be concerned about is the bottom line -.-

Sexualization of teen stars has been going on since for a while now but its kind of disturbing how the media peddles this stuff for sales, its kinda like when Hayden Pantierre turned 18 and posed for those pedo-tastic GQ magazine pics where she was sexually infantilized with teddy bears and nighties. I mean WTF? Look what happened to Lindsay and Britney, the media wants a train wreck to follow and cash in on.

The weather is heating up, and that means we get to see more parts of people that we ordinarily wouldn't. We get to witness people baring their imperfections without shame. But why do girls insist on wearing UGGS when its 75 degrees outside? Do you need your sweaty feet to be even more warm? I mean WTF? You always see those little White girls in the mall doing this but the trend has transcended race in the City D: Maybe they wear them b/c they haven't gotten a chance to get a pedi, which leads me to another odd sight, the horrible calloused and dry feet being paraded around in this season's gladiator sandals. We're all strapped for cash b/c of the economy but there's no reason you can't give yourself a pedicure at home! You can buy a pumice stone at CVS for like $2 and some foot cream and you're good to go! Just latter it on every night and pumice your feet in the shower and you'll be set all summer and save some money!
And ladies...if you have some cellulite and god knows all of us have some imperfection or another on our body that we aren't proud off, just wear some capri-pants instead of those short shorts! But I kind of admire the don't give a fuck attitude or maybe it's denial.

What other fashion crimes do you guys notice when the weather starts to get warmer?

ALSO the government stimulus checks are coming as early as Monday if you selected to have them directly deposited in your account. Thank god because I paid off my high interest credit card and I don't have any spare cash to spend b/c rent is due soon and I have other bills to pay too ughhh DDD:

A few weeks ago I was reading this amazing Wonder Woman graphic novel called Who is Wonder Woman?, in one part of the story this other female character/villain stole Wonder Woman's powers and used them to go and kill all these men who were taking advantage of women, trafficking them, raping, etc. I was reading something just now and it got me thinking...you hardly see super heroes go after real culprits like that do you? I mean I guess the context of the hero needs to be taken into account.
There was this Justice League movie that came out recently and in that one Wonder Woman helps these village women kill these men who were suppressing them and taking advantage of them, Superman shows up and tries to guilt trip her about killing them LOL! And she was like I have no regrets they were scum! HAHAH Wonder Woman's awesome, even more so because Lucy Lawless was her voice actress. Omg who else loved Xena???

Anyway I really liked how they drew Wonder Woman in the aforementioned graphic novel, she was truly Amazon looking (just look at that square jaw! ahah) with the crazy muscles and she looked really powerful, not just some sexed up thing. Plus I liked the whole identity crisis storyline they had going for her.

Speaking of which I always wonder why women showing emotion is seen as weakness and something negative, like you know when Hilary "cried" everyone freaked out about it. Why are men taught to hide their emotions and be ashamed of it, or if they show it they're being feminine and that's considered a negative. I had some discussion about this with my b/f's friends one night and it got me really upset. Ugh society is so lame.

Also did you guys hear about the non-food crisis? Hahah, the story is so strange, it started some fake panic because Costco was limiting the amount of rice Americans can buy because there's a shortage of rice in the Middle East. There's some drought in Australia that's affecting the world's rice supply but apparently it doesn't really affect America @.@; Food prices are going up for everyone.

There's so much weird stuff going on in the world now, or maybe it just seems that way because finally all this crap is affecting the good ol' U.S of A for once and the media are covering it. Or the media is sick of covering the Democratic Primary that just won't end ahaha. Tody McCain said Hamas would like Obama to win the Presidency in some weird bid to connect Obama with terrorism, WAY TO BE DESPERATE McCAIN ugh go fuck yourself plz. If Obama doesn't get the nomination then I think people would rather vote for Hilary who has actual knowledge about the economy and diplomacy not to mention the cojones to be Commander in Chief. If there's one thing we learned about her during this long ass primary is that she's tough.

OMG Battlestar is on LOL *watches* Omg what's his name's wife was so fucking annoying last episode D: Tori is badass XD OMg she's trying to rape Baltar or something haahahahhaa.
God what is with the woman beating this episode?
I went to vote earlier today around 1 pm, it was actually pretty uneventful :/ There was no line or anything hahaa, I missed the morning rush so I assume there will be more people voting once the work day ends. The voting place was actually right across the street from me o.O; I can't believe Obama isn't gonna be here when the results are announced, he said he thinks she'll win but by a narrow margin D: This just mean this primary shit will NEVER END ughhh, just pick someone so we can all focus on attacking creepy McCain. I was reading this funny story about how one time he got mad and called his wife a cunt in front of reporters. He has a well documented temper problem 8D

CNN Express Bus! They're set up right outside the Philadelphia Art Museum, if you've been watching CNN I'm sure you've seen many a broadcast with this backdrop. The tallest building in the skyline is the uglyass Comcast building, it was completed recently and basically looks like a USB stick D: LOL

They left their equipment there alone out in the open! LOL there was no one watching it. I bet they have really good insurance so they don't care if someone jacks one of their lights or something hahahaaa.

I've been following the Texas Polygamist story, have you guys seen those creepy interviews with the women? OMG honestly when I saw them on Larry King I was like...are they mentally damaged? I mean I guess technically they are because of the years of systematic abuse and inbreeding, plus they don't sound very articulate or educated. Everything they said was emotionless and sounded rehearsed. A lot of people have pointed out how they don't know how to deal with or answer questions they haven't been coached for. Also people pointed out how they only seemed concerned for the welfare of their female children, since the boys are used for forced child labor then sent off the compound just like Bill on Big Love XD Or the male children are breed to continue the cycle of abuse.
At first when the story broke I felt kind of bad that these kids were being separated from their mothers but if the mothers are engaging in the abuse and sending their kids off to be married to these older men then the children are better off elsewhere in a safe environment. I still want to know where all the men of the compound are o.O; Also to me these mothers aren't displaying real emotion for the loss of their children, they wipe invisible tears >.>

Nehuu I'm making homemade peach iced-tea :9 Earlier I made some catfish and corn yum XD

The other day I got a voice-mail from Bill Clinton urging me to go to the Clinton rally tonight on UPenn's campus! Then just now I got a recorded message from Barack Obama LOL, I feel so special hahaa *dies* Last Friday was the Obama rally in Old City in front of the Constitution Center, it was a really interesting experience, it was actually like going to a rock concert, in the sense that you have to sit through some lame opening acts and wait even more after they've gone for the headliner to appear. My b/f and I attended the rally, we got there at 6:30 pm and Obama came on stage at 8:45 pm! So we basically stood around for a really long time and when he came we couldn't even see him because we were so far back @.@; But everyone there was still really excited once we heard his voice through the loud speakers. The crowd was ENORMOUS! Idk it seemed like tens of thousands of people where there.

Tomorrow is the BIG day for PA and I can't wait for it to be fucking over, although the media attention that has been brought onto the state is nice, I'm tired of all these people who don't live here analyzing the demographics based on charts. For instance they keep saying how Obama depends on the African American vote, the rally I went to had a very DIVERSE crowd, old and young, white and black. He does NOT solely have the Black vote in his favor, he has a cross-section of people supporting him and saying that mostly Blacks support him seems like lazy journalism because if they did visit these rallies which they broadcast all the time they'd notice the cross-section of people D: Also it's been proven that predominantly white states DO vote for Obama since he's won quite a few so throwing in the race card into this is really annoying and lazy because its easier to chalk it up to race rather than the facts and their policies, and their policies are pretty similar anyway.

The two free city newspapers, (Philadelphia Weekly and City Paper) have both endorsed Obama, one paper said that if he won PA this long ass race will be over sooner rather than later! Another two months of this bullshit is going to be overwhelming especially with the media and the Clinton campaign grasping for straws and harping on little comments for negative attacks and trying to bleed a story out of nothing (see: endless coverage of "bitter" comments which Obama explained a million times by now). To me Hilary isn't doing anything to make herself more likeable, the fact that she participated in the negativity towards Obama in that ABC debate instead of standing above the fray and insist on discussing the ISSUES showed how she'd do anything to win.

The Obama volunteers have been doing a really good job of canvasing hte neighborhoods, for instance my neighborhood is full of signs hanging on the door urging people to vote for him. The City Paper did an undercover report on volunteering for both campaigns and they reported that the Obama people are very enthusiastic and grass roots and self starters, where-as the Hilary campaign volunteers are really jealous of this kind of support and aren't as well organized lol.

Omg Shakira was on the Situation Room talking about universal education, apparently Wolf Blitzer is a huge fan LMAO!! I really watch CNN wayyy too much *dies*

So tomorrow I go to vote for the first time ever! Its exciting, I hope the lines aren't obnoxiously long, we have to vote for our State Senator too I believe but since everything has been focused on the Presidential Campaign I have no idea what the Senator's respective policies are :x lol.

Also this weekend was great fun! For reasons I'll explain later we didn't end up making it to the Murakami exhibit at all, LOL! But we had plenty of booze, food and good times ♥
sokai I left your gift with nikui lol XD

Uhh I have so many photos to post from different things! :O

I was bored last night and tuned in to watch The Tyra Show, this episode was about teens having sex ON school premises. There was this one girl who had sex with 6 guys when she was only 13 years old! And this other male kid who received oral sex in the bathroom, his poor mother was on stage with him. Then this other lesbian girl was talking about how she felt up her girlfriend IN class while a teacher was present.

I was just like OMG wtf, what is wrong with these children? Do they have no sense of decency, morality, personal boundaries and self respect? Ugh society is so sickening sometimes I swear. I mean we all have thoughts and curiosities in our teen years but there's a difference b/t just thinking it and acting it out in a public arena. I just can't even begin to understand why any of these people think its ok to degrade themselves like that. Why the hell do you wanna be fucking anyone when you're 13? You're still a damn child! D:

Anyway I had the saddest BT dream ever! Ahaha the_plate and I went to Buck Tick's first ever U.S. gig and we were like one of the few fans there, the rest of the people were random concert goers. When we arrived at the show we ended up all the way in the back and we couldn't see anything! But then they started to play a really upbeat song that we both liked so we ran to the front of the stage and got right up to the front row. I was like 'wtf why didnt we try to get in the front earlier? it was so easy!' Then Atsushi came down into the crowd! And started having a conversation with us wtf hahaa, then some crazy fan tried to take off his belt! AHAHAHAHA. Then slowly the band members on the stage started to leave, Imai was mad and he said 'Shut the freak up!' to the audience and started to play Cat-scratch Fever hahaah. Then he left and it was only Atsushi on stage singing to pre-recorded music and he was all teary-eyed and I was like, 'Omg I'm so sorry this live sucks! I swear you have a lot of fans in America and I don't why they didn't come!'

LOL so depressing :/

I downloaded Janet Jackson's Veltet Rope album last night and I'm loving it! I remember watching the live show for the tour of this album and everything was amazing, the dancing, costumes, visuals everything. I wanna see if I can find it for rent o.O;

...I need to go grocery shopping now XD

I saw this beautiful view as I approached the museum on foot. I hadn't visited this museum before I had no idea what to expect.

As I got closer I got really excited because the architecture is beautiful and in the Grecian tradition as are quite a few important buildings in Philadelphia. Philadelphia is the sister city of Athens btw.

I don't know anything about Rodin lol but his work is quite amazing, I didn't know what to expect from what was inside the museum

The Thinking Man

The entrance is totally gorgeous and breathtaking.

The scent and sight of pink blossoms at th e entrance just makes the whole experience awesome.

The museum and patio/garden. I have to say whomever did the planning for this place had a really great vision *-*

Museum facade

The Gates of Hell.

This piece reminded me of the scene from The Devil's Advocate where all the statues in that one sculpture in Al Pacino's office started to move around and come to life.

Some detail close-ups. Rodin's work is very visually arresting, there's a strange realism to the body motions

I love how they were coming off from the stone

Getting in the museum was really cheap, they only wanted a minimum $3 donation. Its really small and I thought the work on display was creepy because there are a lot life-sized muscular humans who's form is amazingly rendered o.O;

I didn't know if I was allowed to take pics so I snuck some in. The place is really small, only one floor and about 3 rooms and the guards looked really strict D:

He like to study hands, he had a series of them expressing different things like anger, joy, etc.

The view from when you're leaving the museum

I wonder what this pool part looks like when it's filled

And leaving...

next I ventured over to Fairmount Park to take some pics of Sakura...

dude i just watched Steven's Untitled Rock Show, he had the Japanese bands from the Taste of Chaos tour on. He interviewed MUCC, D'espairsRay and The Underneath. Its kinda weird to see these bands we all listened to from years ago on American tv and touring you know? I think jrock fans nowadays are lucky because they no longer have to dream about going to Japan to see some of their favorite bands, there are realistic possibilities about them touring here and getting the recognition they deserve.

Even though I haven't listened to MUCC in ages it was still exciting to see them on tv and be their lulz selves ahha. I thought yhe interviews went rather smoothly except when Tsukasa and Hizumi decided to poke their mics in Yaz's (translator's) face and she was all like WTFZ are you guys doing? DDD: Also something got lost in the translation or someone forgot that this isn't the first tour D'esray ever did in the U.S, they had that ill-fated tour with JpopHouse or whatever that company was called. If I were them I would prolly block that out too LMAO!

Anyway none of the bands were socially awkward like Dir are in interviews, seriously what's wrong with Dir? AHAHAH. Have you guys seen that weird-ass Kaoru interview with that one chick from Myspace? I tried to watch it but it was painful ahhaaha.

Nehuu Desray and The Underneath have U.S releases of their albums out or coming out, so look out for that.

On the topic of jrock bands touring in the U.S don't forget to check out the Electric Orchid Productions website on Friday to see which j-rock band they'll be bring stateside!!!!

Edit: you can watch the clips from the Fuse interview online here:
http://fuse.tv/tv/taste-of-chaos/bc_player.php?clip=1496480553

thanks to mousoucarnival for the link

Visual-kei? Oshare? Most tour promoters wouldn't get past the first word. But Electric Orchid Productions knows J-rock from A(ngura) to Z(ekuu). And we also know that Japan's electrifying acts are best experienced live. Which is why we've dedicated ourselves to bringing the best of J-rock to the US.
Electric Orchid Productions, LLC combines scene-smart passion and professional dedication, to organize and promote tours for Japanese artists. Our staff has worked in the J-rock field for four years and has the knowledge, contacts and skills to bring the best of J-rock to America.
On April 11th we will be announcing our first tour, scheduled for June 2008. For now, check out our site at http://electricorchidproductions.com.

Electric Orchid Productions: The future of J-rock is Electric.

So now I can unveil the identity designs I did for her a few months ago.

Since Emily said she wanted a classy looking logo I used the very traditional helvetica along with a more modern font to add that edgy rock n roll touch. I did this so that when you look at the logo you have some visual recognition that it is rock/music related. I really like how it turned out ahah, this is the first logo I ever designed for someone else, my fav thing is the mini O-bolt mini logo. Hm I also like that the business card is classy and clean looking but also kind of modern at the same time.

Yey! So look out for the announcement on April 11th, also join the EOP myspace if you have one!
http://www.myspace.com/electricorchidllc

Continuing on the saga that is My Loud-ass Neighbor! On Saturday night my b/f and I went to have dinner at this horrible place called the Mexican Post, so our waiter comes up to take our order and I hear 'that voice'. Loud-Ass Neighbor has this very distinctive bass-hard-gruff voice and I was like 'omg I think our waiter is my neighbor!' HAHAHA. Nehuu I've seen him vaguely before and I think it was definitely him, plus his voice is so deep and uncommon it further convinced me. I wonder if he met his ex at the Mexican Post lol!!! Nehuu the food tasted like it came out of a can ughh lame. But the tequila/mango thing I had was awesome LOL!

On Friday night I went out to have dinner in Chinatown with my b/f and his friends and their g/fs. His friends both date Asian women, so we were walking by this group of people and one Asian guy was like 'This is what's wrong right here!' And I was like o.O; WTF? In Philadelphia its really common to see Caucasian males dating Asian women, but you hardly ever see white women with Asian guys. So anyway...it was weird and awkward. One time me and my b/f were walking down the street and we passed this group of black guys and one of the guys was like 'Don't hold his hand, hold mine' and I was like WTF? Comments like that are so lame and disgusting you know? Its like oh you look like you fit into a certain race due to your skin color so you belong with a man of the same color or some bullshit like that, same deal with the Asian guy objecting to my b/f's friends dating Asian girls. Its like you don't even know us girls and why we choose to date outside our race so just STFU and back the hell off its none of your business anyway. -.-;

Nehuu I think the China Olympics are gonna be a bust...they keep saying how its not about politics but about athleticism or whatever, but basic human rights are being violated and innocent people are being killed, how can they be ignored so that some sporting event can go on? Its kind of sick idk :/ I'm usually really excited about the Olympics but this whole thing is just a bit scary how all these organizations supporting it can neglect what the Chinese government is doing. Also those hosts on CNN during the day are fucking retarded! They did a piece on the protests in San Francisco against the Olympics and afterwards the CNN host was like going goo-goo over the Olympic torch, I mean WTF? You've just done reporting on people protesting injustice going on in the world and focus the story on some piece of plastic that carries a flame? UGHH, its like what those people stand for doesn't even matter.

There's a big story about 200+ women and children removed from a polygamy compound in Texas. Personally I think the whole thing is fucking disgusting and an excuse for child abuse and pedophilia masked by religion. I saw this thing on tv called Secret Lives of Women: Polygamists. And this one lady was like 'I don't wanna take care of a man all by myself that seems like hard work, so I want other sister wives.' And I was like WTF? Marriage isn't about TAKING CARE of a man, its a partnership, she was so fucking brainwashed it was ridiculous. This other lady was forced to marry her step-dad and have sex with him, its so fucking sick and incestuous the whole thing. This other story on the show was about twin sisters married to the same guy, omg wtf? One 17 yo girl left and she said that the kids are so brainwashed and uneducated they know nothing about the outside world or even who the current President is @.@; And plus they get assigned to their husbands and they don't know who they're gonna marry until like hours before the ceremony, often times they're married off to severely older men since most of the young men are driven off the compound so that they won't be competition for these old fucking pedophiles. And then they mentioned something about the sex and how the women aren't allowed pleasure because if they're enjoying it, its being done wrong. Ugh the whole thing is so fucking sexist and sick D:

On a lighter note, Battlestar Galactica is back! Omg it was so awesome, I loled at Gaius' weird harem hahahaa. Then I screamed NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! at the tv when the episode ended, such a cruel cliffhanger D:

Oh so remember that loud-ass neighbor I ranted about one time? The one with the dog who was always yapping on the fucking phone. Well finally something came along to shut his ass up! That being his girlfriend very loudly breaking up with him. Omg I couldn't believe the drama I was overhearing since she was basically screaming really loudly outside my door. She was like HOW DID YOU EXPECT ME TO FUCKING REACT TO YOU BRINGING YOUR EX-GIRLFRIEND TO HANG OUT! THANK YOU FOR SHOWING ME WHAT GUYS ARE LIKE HANGING OUT WITH THEIR EX-FUCKERS YOU FUCKING MOTHERFUCKER FUCK YOU! YOU HAVE NOTHING TO SAY YOU FUCK! FUCK YOU! and then he muttered a very quiet, sorry. And then she ranted on some more about him being an insensitive douchebag for bringing along the ex and then she was like THANKS FOR MAKING ME FUCKING CRY YOU FUCK! hahahaa omg.
I mean honestly why did the ex even agree to go? She must still have feelings for him and that's what the current g/f was picking up on. Anyway then the g/f was like THANKS FOR MAKING ME WASTE TIME ON YOU! YOU AND YOUR EX-FUCK! hahaha omg. Man so much dramaz. Honestly though I've seen the guy and he looks and sounds like a giant douchebag so good for her for not taking that bullshit haha.

Jane and her suitors

Nehuu while this was going on I was trying to watch that movie called Becoming Jane, god why did they make Jane out to be such a....idk annoying character? UGHH I was like ughh leave her James McAvoy you're such a hot cad ILU! HAAHHAA Seriously his charm is amazing to me. I like the first half of the movie when they were flirting and he was totally delicious but I just don't understand where they "fell so madly in love." All of sudden she's abandoning her family for him and blah blah it was pretty lame but she ended up dying unmarried XO Anyway also I didn't understand the casting of the family, everyone was like blond and there was Anne Hathaway with her dark tresses, it was confusing. Also the rest of the family looked like they could be related but she didn't look like any of these ppl hahaa. I mean the movie was enjoyable but I think had some editing/pacing problems and I didn't buy that Jane and uh...James McAvoy's character were in love. PLUS the other dude [blonde guy on the right] who was courting her was so cute in that awkward dorky way! And she wouldn't even give him a chance, like god wtf he lives down the road you can take some time to get to know him w/o judging. But she put up this wall cuz her family wanted her to marry him for money basically, but he wasn't totally hideous or obscene or anything, in fact he seemed really nice and respectful but whatever, even Jane Austen couldn't resist the bad boy with a reputation haahaha.

And randomly that Step it Up & Dance show on Bravo is totally HORRIBLE! Ew I hope they don't preform in an empty auditorium with four judges for the entire competition. With popular dance shows on other channels with live audiences, this shows' format is really horrible and boring and the contestants dance skills weren't wow inducing and they're just too many bitchy gays D: God I hope there's not a next Christian Siriano, just TMTH!!!!! Hahaha Danny Noriega from AI is my fav over the top gay of the season ahahhaaa.
BTW America's Best Dance Crew was hot! Hahahaa the people on that show had more talent and charisma than these "trained" pros Bravo got.

Also quick note on AI why do they keep making David Cook hotter every week? During the first weeks of this show I was like omg he looks like a douche I hate him and his combover receding hairline. Then he got that haircut this week and his performances from the past weeks have made him very appealing :D WRY?
Also David Archuleta I just don't get it...I don't think this kid could really sell millions of albums he has the personality and charisma of a wet rag D:

japanese fashion in mainstream media

Its so weird lately to see all these compilations books popping up in the local bookstores with full color pics of Japanese street fashion, jrock cosplayers and lolitas. Years ago we had the Fruits mook, now there's a Gothic & Lolita mook that's made by the same company I believe. There's also the Tokyo Look Book which I thumbed through today and found really interesting.

I like how they had interviews with some of the lesser known designers (from a Western pov) and how they showed off more than wacky street fashion, it actually had "normal" high end street snaps of office ladies during their down time and girls and guys who were in their 20s and enjoyed the high end brands. The only part of the book that made me lol was the total inaccuracy of labelling a Die Macabre era cosplayer as having a totally original outfit on. I mean she had the fox shawl, dyed red hair in the same hairstyle as Die, coat, accessories and all. Although to be fair there are other Dir en grey cosplayers identified as such, one was Child Prey era Kyo! Hahaha it's funny that out of all the bands the book only really identified and photographed Dir en grey ones.
There's also an interview with Mana where he speaks for the first time ever hahaahah j/k.

There's also this book called Style Deficit Disorder: Harajuku Street Fashion - Tokyo which features a lot of really old school Dir en grey cosplayers. A lot other jrock bands are also mentioned and shown in this book, Mana is once again in it. They do a break down of the major brands like h.naoto, et al. My biggest problem with this book is the design, the typography is atrocious and it features this horrible font that you see on the book cover. I prefer the design of the Tokyo Look Book because its cleaner and very clear and easy on the eyes and puts the focus on the pictures and fashion instead of on the graphic design itself.

Then there's the newly launched English version of Gothic & Lolita Bible, I picked it up the other day, and it was a whopping $19.99 D: WTF? D: As someone who doesn't follow this kind of fashion and every major development and know about all the brands I found the issue informative, but I can imagine experienced Lolitas to be really bored with the content. The one thing that I really hated was the fact that they featured fashions from 2005! Why the hell would I buy a fashion publication to see 3 year old fashion statements? Fashion related mags/mooks should be on the cutting edge and like most mainstream fashion mags show you fashions for the UPCOMING seasons, not from years past. Why do I care what BTSSB made 3 years ago? LOL. I think experienced Lolitas would care even less and look to a magazine like this to showcase new and upcoming fashions they'd like to purchase and wear.
In terms of the design I think they need to cut back on the "gothic" fonts, like yes we get it, its GOTHIC & Lolita Bible but gosh its like beating you over the head visually. Plus since there are so many subsets of Lolita fashions their design should reflect that too, and maybe choose some traditional serif/san-serif fonts to go with their one main Gothic font.

Also with all the practicing lolitas in the U.S. I think it would be cool to see some professional photo shoots with them, I'm sure they're some of there that model haha. I hope the magazine moves beyond the recycled content from the Japanese version and really start to do their own thing and showcase Western Lolitas, because frankly I think the recycled content can be done in small portions but they need to have their own original sections to continue to be relevant to their target audience.

AND since Tokyo Pop is behind this I assume they have some money, along with resources and a team of people in Japan who can take pics of the current collections of the big coveted brands. I think doing this mook is a major undertaking and it can be really expensive for Tokyo Pop to try and showcase the clothes and keep the magazine relevant and having people in the community to support it. I think the Lolitas have been keeping up on the scene for a long time on their own so having a magazine like this become part of their routine will be challenging haha. Content is definitely key.

I need to get back to being serious about my job search because I kind of slacked off the past few weeks. I'm glad March and February are over because they were seriously hellish in terms of stress, emotional stability and not to mention the health scare I had that I didn't post anything about here. BUT that turned out to be ok and my health is fine. So all in all I'm looking forward to the coming months with warmth and sunshine and then SUMMER! Uh anyway I've kinda been eh about jobs because I have the chance to look for a job that's close to my dream job and something that will allow me to grow as a designer and artist. I already did my time during bullshit work that I didn't enjoy and didn't inspire me.
I think a few years ago I was an advocate of going to a big school to become a graphic designer or anything related to that field but honestly you might as well go to one of those vocational schools and save yourself from the student loan debt you'll end up being in after school. Most of the things you'll need you don't learn in those big schools anyway and you just do bullshit work that doesn't relate to real world work experience so IDK personally most of what I learned I taught myself and investigated on my own time.

The graphic design world at the moment I find very one note, everything you see being published is within a certain style that everyone does so no one really stands out, its just loads of busy compositions with bright colors that look cool but overall seems to say nothing o.O; To me its like how many bright colors can I cram onto a digital canvas idk hahaa, but I appreciate people doing minimal work like this person on DA, its refreshing not seeing a totally cluttered canvas and good use of negative space.

Anyhoo I also need to um stick to a budget and save! I'm receiving unemployment at the moment which is nice 8D I kinda went crazy with shopping and stopped using my credit card because I don't need more debt on that and I've been working towards paying it off completely since it has a really high APR D: So nehuu I was using my debit card so all my purchases were paid off immediately. I kind of like this because it stops you from overspending, once you have a high credit card limit you're like oh I 'afford' this, I'll just pay it off later. I have two of my credit cards completely paid off and now I'm just working on one and it should be done this coming pay cycle.

On the egl someone asked what people were gonna do with those stimulus checks we are all gonna receive in the mail next month. Hahah actually I was wondering about this too, the general consensus seems like most Americans will use it to pay off their debt or save it. I was going to use it to pay off my one credit card but since I'm going to achieve that before it gets here I'm not sure what I'll do with it. I think I might save half and spend half? IDK it's free government money and they want us to put it back into the economy! What are you guys gonna do with it if you receive one?

This weekend was gorgeous! The weather was amazing, sunny, bright and warm, today another side of spring is in the air, the April showers kind D: It's been pretty miserable outside all day but its warm, about 60 degrees. I took these pics on Saturday and Sunday while walking around the my neighborhood.

Happy Spring!
Some child left a nice message on the sidewalk on Saturday morning! It did feel like spring indeed because the sun was out and it was nice enough outside to wear a light jacket instead of a heavy winter coat.

Sugizo

I'm not big fan of X Japan BUT I do LOVE SUGIZO!!!! Omg, the parts where they edited him and hide playing back to back were awesome! *-* Also in this video Yoshiki being <s>dramatic</s> HXC!! while ripping apart his drumset. \m/

In the second video Sugizo rocks out hxc and preforms beautiful backup vocals *squees on the inside~* also the ghost of hide via video makes an apperance *scared* ;A; its so weird, i can't imagine how emotional it must have been to watch this whole thing in person. I wanted Sugizo to run across that middle runway thing like in LS when they did Lunatic Tokyo at Tokyo Dome!! haha
